Shortly after high school, Tom established his first painting company, which he successfully operated for twelve years. During that time, he specialized in high-end decorative finishing services and discovered his true calling in the artistic side of the trade—transforming bold ideas into stunning realities for discerning designers and decorators.

While growing his painting business, Tom simultaneously earned a business degree. In 1996, he transitioned into the corporate world, where he enjoyed a distinguished career in procurement. He held key positions with renowned organizations including Disney and General Electric, ultimately serving as Chief Procurement Officer for a national service company.

Driven by his enduring passion for the craft, Tom eventually left corporate life to return to what he loves most. He founded Granath Color Works with a clear mission: to deliver exceptional decorative painting, color consultation, and restoration services that honor classic aesthetics while creating timeless, unforgettable interiors.
